What I help adults with

Voice Therapy

For vocal fatigue, horaseness, loss of voice, or changes in quality after illness, surgery, or strain. I work on both the physical health of your voice and the habits that protect it.

Accent Modification

For non-native English speakers who want to improve clarity and intelligibility, without erasing their identity. The goal is to be understood, not to sound like someone you’re not.

Speech and language rehabilitation

Supportive, functional therapy for communication changes after stroke, traumatic brain injuries, or other neurological events. Conditions include aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, fluency disorders and more.

Conditions I treat

Communication challenges can happen suddenly after a medical event, or develop gradually over time. I provide specialized, evidence-based therapy to help you recover your speech, understand language more easily, and express yourself clearly.

Aphasia

Difficulty reading, writing, speaking, and understanding language after a neurological event such as stroke. Learn more.

Apraxia of Speech

Knowing what you want to say but having trouble forming the words correctly and consistently.

Articulation and Lisps

Difficulty producing certain sounds like /s/ or /z/, or substituting one sound for another.

Cognitive-Communication Disorders

Challenges with memory, listening, and problem-solving that impact your ability to communicate effectively.

Dysarthria

Slow or slurred speech due to muscle weakness from conditions like MS, ALS, or stroke.

Fluency Disorders

Issues with the speed, flow, and rhythm of speech — including stuttering and cluttering.

Parkinson’s Disease

Voice and speech changes — softer volume, reduced clarity, and flattened expression — are among the earliest and most disruptive symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Singing-based voice therapy for Parkinson’s uses rhythm, melody, and familiar music to support vocal volume, intelligibility, and pacing via telehealth.

Receptive and Expressive Disorders

Challenges with processing what others say, or finding the right words to convey your own thoughts.

Voice Disorders

Hoarseness, vocal fatigue, loss of voice, or changes in vocal quality — including conditions like vocal nodules or dysphonia.

Questions about Online Speech Therapy in Florida

Which cities in Florida do you serve?

I provide online speech therapy to adults throughout Florida — West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and beyond. Because sessions are fully online, location within Florida doesn’t limit your access — if you’re a Florida resident aged 18 or older, you’re eligible.

Do you bill insurance?

All services are private pay. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to ask whether they offer out-of-network reimbursement for speech-language pathology services — some plans do. I’m happy to provide a superbill (detailed receipt) after each session, which you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.

Note: All professional services and superbills are issued under my legal and licensing name, Tanya Harmer, to ensure seamless processing with your provider.

How does online speech therapy work?

We meet via secure video call — all you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a steady internet connection. Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes. Before your first appointment, you’ll complete a brief intake form so I can come prepared. Everything is HIPAA-compliant and conducted through a secure platform.

What conditions do you treat?

I treat a wide range of adult speech and language conditions — stuttering and other fluency disorders, aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, articulation disorders, lisps, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, and expressive and receptive language disorders. I also offer accent modification for non-native English speakers.

I’m not from Florida — can you help me?

Currently I offer direct therapy services only to adult clients located within Florida. I plan to expand in the future. Join the waitlist and I’ll be in touch when that changes.

Do you offer refunds?

Payment is due at the time of booking. Because that time slot is committed to you, refunds are not available. In exceptional circumstances, please get in touch and we can discuss.

Ready to get started?

The first conversation is free. No commitment, no obligation — just 30 minutes to talk through where you are and where you want to be.
